Onyx is formed by layered deposits of hydrated calcium carbonated from warm
springs,
or as stalagmites or stalactites in caves. The word "Onyx" is derived from
the Greek word
meaning fingernail because of its translucency. The color ranges from
deep to light with red,
multi-brown and white bands or veins. These lamps can be pretty
